Let’s Check In

The job you thought would complete you.
The move that left you more lost than found.
Becoming a parent. Ending a relationship. Facing climate anxiety.
Career pivots. AI changing everything. Grief, loss of a loved one, burnout, and identity crises.

We’ve all been there. Or we’re on our way.

The Let’s Check Podcast is for people who crave meaning in the mess and who are brave enough to get curious when the map runs out.

Crafted and hosted by Suzie McErvale, this podcast blends real conversations with expert insight to help navigate life’s wobbliest seasons.

You’ll hear from guests who’ve walked through uncertainty and come out the other side - sometimes gracefully, often messily, but always honestly.

We talk to the experts about the things you didn’t learn at school, that you wished someone had prepared you for. Because if there’s one thing certain in life, it’s that uncertainty isn’t going anywhere, so let’s learn how to get comfortable.

Our Why

Life doesn’t stay still - and neither do we.
At every stage, things shift: our roles, our relationships, our sense of self. That’s why we stay anchored in a few key things:

We believe in Connectedness - the kind that comes from real conversations, strong communities, and showing up for each other.
We prioritise Wellbeing, because looking after ourselves is where meaningful change starts.
We value Curiosity and Lifelong Learning -asking questions, staying open, and embracing growth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

These aren’t just ideas - they’re the foundation of every conversation we have on the podcast.
Because when we live our values out loud, we help shape a world that feels more supportive, inclusive, and human.

Our Five pillars

The Let’s Check In Podcast focuses on strength-based approaches across the five key social and emotional areas of Self Awareness, Self Management, Social Awareness and Responsible Decision Making.

Meet the Creator

Hi, I’m your Host Suzie McErvale, and I come from a long line of strong, determined, kind-hearted women who have dedicated their lives to future generations. For over 60 years, they’ve been educators and pillars in their communities, equipping young people with the life skills needed to navigate an ever-changing world.

After more than a decade working in education, I couldn’t ignore the patterns I was seeing any longer. As society and technology evolve at lightning speed, I watched students struggle with rising levels of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. These overwhelming feelings of stress and powerlessness aren’t exactly the ideal foundation for stepping into adulthood.

As I started sharing my reflections, I realised it wasn’t just young people who were feeling lost. Adults, too, were grappling with their own uncertainties - career shifts, climate anxiety, identity crises and burnout. It became clear to me: If we want to better support the next gen, we first need to strengthen our own ability to navigate uncertainty.

In 2022 and 2023, as Melbourne emerged from the pandemic haze, I submitted my annual leave from my 9 - 5, packed my bags, dusted off my passport and set off to connect with thought leaders around the world - from Sweden and Denmark to Italy and Argentina. I spoke with experts in education, law, climate tech, politics, psychology, and more, seeking insights and strategies for managing the constant flow of change.

The deeper we get into adulthood, the more we realize that change is a constant - sometimes subtle, sometimes seismic. And, honestly? It can feel overwhelming, confronting, and far from linear.

The Let’s Check In Podcast is here to make that journey feel less isolating. Through honest conversations and expert insights, we’re rebuilding the village, one episode at a time. We dive into the uncomfortable, the unexpected, and the messy parts of life - those real moments that don’t come with an instruction manual.
